    What is SketchLab ?

We want to build a community with people who aim to be professional concept artists and provide a starting point for those who are looking for online resources, help with daily practice, and create a place for art talks, networking and sharing information.

Currently we are focusing on drawing and painting fundamentals and 2D art careers, but we will be aiming on expanding the site for those who are interested in different art fields. This is not a filter on what you should share, we welcome anything you are working on.

We follow the “Work hard, keep up or fuck off” mindset, meaning we are not here to hold your hand and tell you everybody is an artist in their own way. There are plenty of other sites for that.
Although we intend to keep harsh critique under control and prevent drama. This community is meant to be helpful not a battle arena.

    Why another sketch forum ?

We want to create a place that is easy to use, reliable and you don’t have to worry that your favorite sketchbooks disappear because the creators walk away.

We would like to press that we don’t aim to be a No.1 industry leading place. Those times when you could get frequent feedback from professionals are gone. The internet is a much bigger place now and the competition is higher. Although we will try to bring some names to you, we can’t promise they will have the time and interest. These people get many messages and emails from beginners asking questions on a daily basis. If you are looking for those aspects, then this place may be not for you, and we suggest that you target your favorite artists on their personal channel. Instead we aim on filtering the information you can find online and make it easier for you to find a way through the mess. We want you to build healthy art habits and do your work out of passion not for confirmation.
